4. Art of the title

The two title sequences which I analysed was: "Too Many Cooks" and "Ping Pong Summer." Too Many Cooks"is a dark comedy short that originally aired as a special during Adult Swim's "infomercials" block in October 2014. It was written and directed by Casper Kelly and produced by Williams Street Productions. While I watched the title sequence for Too Many Cooks I noticed that they were very creative, as in they included the name of each character whilst their faces were on the screen collaboratively. There was also animated parts in the title sequence which seemed as if it was for children.

The second title sequence which I analysed was "Ping Pong Summer" which is an American comedy. Its about a 13 year old Rad who goes on a summer vacation to Ocean City , Maryland with his family. Experiencing lots of things for the first time , he finds a mentor for one of his obsessions, ping pong. The title sequence for Ping pong summer was short in comparison to Too Many Cooks. They also introduced the characters in a complete different way - Presented their names with a plain background. Also the people which where behind the making on the american comedy film were acknowledged too for example: casting , costume designer , associates etc.

Both "Too many cooks" and "ping pong summer" have completely different ways of laying out the title sequence. I gathered that Ping Pong Summer included the directors etc whereas Too many cooks didn't. But with "Too many cooks" they introduced the characters/ actors in a simpler way, which made it easier to acknowledge which character is which.
