Wix Website

This is the finalized version of the wix website created for 'Different Roads'
http://bilaal-1998.wix.com/differentroadsmovie

Wix tutorial

Due to some parts being complicated in Wix.com, i followed parts of this tutorial to help me make an advanced website, where i could click hyperlinks/anchors such as 'back to top'. I wanted the website to seem professional and little parts such as those matters, furthermore; i was able to add a series of images to make the website friendly for the users.

EDITING UPDATE

37.

I have changed the design as the previous background colour was not professional as it was too bright and did not contrast the writing to the fullest as it was light blue.

How does the colour / font / typeface reflect back to your movie?
By making the header "Different Roads" in bold, contrasting colours; we're able to attract the audiences attention automatically into the title of our movie. Our title "Different Roads" allows the audience to use their interpretation to find out what the plot of the movie is.
The typeface and font reflects our movies target audience; teens/young adults/adults.

Feedback for the editing

Social Media - Twitter

I have created a twitter account for promotional purposes and it will help create a social media 'buzz' in anticipation of our opening movie scene. The hashtag e is easy to remember and if it trends, this will increase our target audience mass.

How to use Garage Band

Above is a video demonstration of how to use garage band step by step. Garage band was used to make the instrumental for the graveyard scene.

The app which I used was Quick Time player. It was a simple app to use.

Research on Transition Techniques

In order to gain inspiration for editing and adding really good effects to our opening I decided to do some research via YouTube.
I searched up ways in which would help us improve our opening or even just give us ideas overall.

Some videos which I watched were:

FINAL THINGS WHICH NEED TO GET DONE!!

Things which we need to do are:

  • Finalising the split screen so the both characters are both in sync with one and other.
  • Add music for the flash back scenes and the leaving the college scene
  • Try and add really nice transitions to the individual clips

So overall we have to just get our editing completed and we are finished.

Interview

Interviewing Shakyrah Davis

I Interviewed one of the actresses which starred in our opening via SMS/ Whatsapp.
The girl which I interviewed was the dead girl Zoe.. She kindly answered all the questions which I asked.

How to use Audio Converter

I used Audio Converter to convert the song for our opening.
Above is the process which i had to go through in order to do it

Blog Feedback

Feedback that i received from my peers was both negative and positive.

  • My blog is really eye catching
  • Theres lot's of detail throughout the blog
  • It's informative
  • Colourful
  • Detailed videos

Things which stood out to my peers on the blog were:

Overall it seemed that the mini videos were really effective because it shows people the process we went through as a group in order to film our opening.

Using Motion for our title sequence

For our title sequence I used motion..

Motion was really interesting to use. I learnt how to do the transitions for the title sequence.

Song Ideas

I have been looking for songs or inspirational songs which can be used in our opening for each different scene.

For the title sequence I asked my friend if i could use one of his songs from his soundcloud profile
I felt that its a really good instrumental which could be used at the begging. At first i thought of using it for the graveyard scene but changed my mind.

(He has really good instrumentals&songs)

I then looked around for songs which can be used in the Grave yard scene... I looked at peoples play lists and that gave me some ideas as to what can be used.

I also made an instrumental in college which could possibly be used for the opening scene depending on my groups feedback.

I also listened to upbeated songs on soundcloud too...(possibly for the flash backs)
